Ingenio Taboga is an agro industrial company dedicated to the cultivation of sugar cane that produces sugar, ethanol and electricity. Taboga is the largest sugar producer in Costa Rica with a market participation of 18%.

With a milling capacity of 7,000 tons of sugarcane per day Taboga has a daily output of sugar of 670 tons of sugar.

Our distillery produces about 200,000 liters of ethanol per day. Taboga has the capacity of delivering anhydrous ethanol for bio-fuel utilization, as well as REN quality for industrial and beverage use. For this year are expected to produce 20 million liters of alcohol. Recently we were the first mill in Latin America to be certified ISCC (International Carbon Sustainability Certification) under the RED initiative.

Since our inception in 1958 we have produced electricity for the operation of the plant, but as of 2002, through improved energy balance and the implementation of new technologies, we produce electricity for sale to the national electric grid. Today we sell 20 megawatts / hour of environmentally friendly electricity.
